Winnipeg man Akech Dut Ajak charged with first degree murder

On Friday, February 15, 2013 at approximately 2:00 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to a business located in the area of Main Street and Broadway.

Attending officers located a male suffering from a gunshot wound who succumbed to his injuries.

The victim was identified as William Edward Moar, 24 years of Winnipeg.

Members of the Homicide Unit continued with the investigation and on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 Akech Dut Ajak, 22 years of Winnipeg was arrested in Winnipeg.  He is facing a charge of first degree murder and has been detained in custody.

Further, investigators have travelled to Calgary where they took custody of a 15 year old male youth involved in the incident.  This male has been transported back to Winnipeg and charged with first degree murder.  He has been detained in custody.

The investigation is on-going
