The investigation led by the RCMP’s Major Crime Unit and the Acadian Peninsula RCMP has concluded that the death of a woman found in her home in Saumarez on March 5, 2013 was the result of a murder.
Police were called to the residence after an individual reported concern for the woman’s well-being after she failed to report to work. The 59-year-old woman has been identified as Kathleen Arseneault, of Saumarez.
Police believe this to be an isolated incident and have a suspect, but at this point no charges have been laid.
