It is alleged that:
– on Sunday, May 30, 2010, between 12:30 a.m. and 5 a.m., in two separate cases, two men had responded to internet ads for female companionship in the Bathurst Street/Finch Avenue West area,
– once the men arrived at a North York apartment complex, they were approached by two other men who identified themselves as police officers,
– in each case, the suspects handcuffed the victim and robbed them of their cash.
The suspects are described as white, 25-35.
Stanislav Yusim, 37, of Toronto, Tomas Biberberg, 32, of Thornhill, and Vivien Godo, 27, of Toronto, were arrested and charged with:
1) two counts of Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence,
2) two counts of Robbery.
It is further alleged that:
Tomas Biberberg and Stanislav Yusim have each been charged with:
1) Personating Peace Officer,
2) Attempt Forcible Confinement,
3) Fail to Comply Recognizance,
4) Fail to Comply Undertaking Given to Officer in Charge.
They were all scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West, on Friday, June 11, 2010, room 306, at 10 a.m.
Police believe there may be other victims.
Police would like to remind the public that, when approached by officers not wearing uniforms, request photo identification accompanied by a badge.
