This evening’s Air Canada Centre show on the "AR Rahman Jai Ho Concert: The Journey Home World Tour" has been cancelled.

Police are notifying ticket holders that the show has been cancelled so they don’t get caught in what is expected to be heavy traffic in the downtown core this evening.

A press release by the concert promoter will be released on Monday, June 21, 2010, announcing a future concert date that will honour tickets sold for this evening’s concert.

Information on compensation will also be released.

New dates for the Detroit and Toronto concerts will be announced, Rahman wrote on his Facebook page.

"I regret any inconvenience this causes my fans and am deeply grateful no one from my team or the local Detroit stage crew was seriously injured," the 43-year-old Indian composer added.
