Death of Edmonton man Amir Ahmed Qureshi ruled as homicide

Earlier this morning, Thurs., May 2, 2013, an autopsy was conducted on a male who was discovered deceased on Wed., May 1, 2013.

The Edmonton Medical Examiner has ruled the death a homicide. The victim has been identified as Amir Ahmed Qureshi, 25, of Edmonton. The death was the result of a gunshot wound.

As part of their investigation, police are asking the public for assistance in locating a 2006, red, four-door Mitsubishi Lancer with Alberta license plate GWA 322.

“We believe that friends and family spoke with the victim on Tuesday,” says EPS Major Crimes Insp. Kevin Brezinski. “We are asking anyone who may have had any contact with Qureshi, or any member of the public who may have seen him or the vehicle on Tuesday, to contact police.”
