RCMP are currently investigating an attempted murder in Peggy’s Cove.
Tonight, at approximately 9:05 p.m., Halifax RCMP responded to a call of an assault at a residence on Prospect Road. A 52-year-old female was attacked with an axe several times. The victim sustained serious life-threatening injuries and has been transported to hospital. The victim and suspects are known to each other.
At approximately 10:25 p.m., Halifax Regional Police arrested the suspects in a vehicle on Mumford Road without incident. Two female youth are currently in police custody. The Halifax Integrated General Investigative Section has been called in to assist with the investigation.
The matter is still under investigation.
