On Friday, July 2, at 2:40 p.m., police received a call for an assault at 1448 Lawrence Avenue East, near Victoria Park Avenue.

It is reported that:

– a 58-year-old man became involved in an altercation with two men in the parking lot of the Victoria Terrace Plaza at 1448 Lawrence Avenue East,

– during the altercation, both suspects brandished handguns,

– one of the suspects shot the victim in the back,

– both suspects then fled the scene.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance identifying the suspects.

Suspect #1 is described as black, (dark complexion), 18-20, 5’10" to 6’, 180-200 lbs., with a heavy build. His hair was braided in cornrows. He was wearing a black shirt with gold striping, black denim shorts, cut below the knee, and black shoes. He was armed with a small, silver handgun.

Suspect #2 is described as black (lighter complexion), 16-20, 5’10", 150 lbs., thin build, black hair and wearing light clothing. This suspect was also armed with a small, silver handgun.
