The Vancouver Police Sex Crimes Unit is requesting the public’s assistance for information regarding a sexual assault that occurred on July 3rd just after 8:30 p.m. in Thornton Park, located at Main Street and Terminal Avenue.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 3rd a 43 year old woman was walking in Thornton Park when she was attacked by an unknown man. The man forced her to the ground, punched her in the head, and then sexually assaulted her by forcefully groping her. The woman fought off the man and he ran south through the park.

The suspect, who was not located, was described as a 30 – 40 year old white male with a medium build and being about 5’10” to 5’11” tall. He was said to be scruffy looking with some facial hair and wearing a dark top.
