Just after 9 pm on Friday, July 2nd some heads up neighbours called 9-1-1 after seeing two men trying to break into a house in the 2800 E 45th Avenue

Officers, including a K9 unit, responded and quickly surrounded the yard. The two men, perhaps sensing that the police were closing in on them, ran. One of the men, in his attempt to get away, sprayed the dog handler and the dog with bear spray.

To his misfortune, the spray didn’t have the desired effect and the man was taken into custody by the K9 and other officers who had rushed to assist. The other man tried to run for it but was caught by officers about a block away.

26 yr old Burnaby resident Jesse Carl Baker has been charged with one count of Break and Enter. He is known to police and is next due in Provincial court on the afternoon of July 12th.

30 year old Vancouver resident Michael Alexander See has been charged with one count break and enter, possession of a break in instrument, assaulting a peace officer, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. See is also known to police and was in Provincial court this morning at 9 a.m.
