On Friday, July 2, 2010, police received a call for a fire at 502 Huron Street.
Toronto Fire Services and police attended and located a 24-year-old woman with obvious signs of trauma. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man was also injured in this fire and remains in hospital in critical condition.
The cause of death has been determined as stab wounds and burns to the body.
The name of the victim is being withheld, pending notification of next-of-kin.
After further investigation, Farshad Badakhshan, 27, is now a person of interest.
