RCMP are investigating the discovery of human remains in a wooded area east of Edmundston, N.B.

The remains were discovered during the evening of May 28, 2013 in a wooded area near McCoy Road in Saint-Joseph-de-Madawaska.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the person’s death and trying to determine their identity. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed on May 30 in Saint John.

The investigation continues.
