Surrey RCMP wish to advise the public about charges laid against 29 year old Surrey resident Daniel Ivan Ugarte and to potentially identify victims who are currently unknown by investigators.
Ugarte was arrested on May 12th, 2013 and charged with one count of Sexual Interference of a person under the age of sixteen, a crime under Section 151 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
The RCMP seeks the public’s assistance for information about Ugarte that may further the ongoing police investigation.
We want to ensure that anyone that might have been a victim comes forward and speaks to us,
says Cpl. Bert Paquet of the Surrey RCMP.
Ugarte has been released from custody on conditions including no contact with his victim and any other young persons. Several other conditions set to ensure the safety of the public are also part of his release. His next scheduled court appearance is set for June 14th, 2013 at Surrey Provincial Court.
