Richmond Hill man Abrahim Safaie charged with five counts on sexual assault

Officers with the York Regional Police #2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged a 54-year-old man in connection with a series of historical sexual assaults in the Town of Richmond Hill and the City of Toronto.

On Tuesday, April 2, 2013, officers began their investigation after being contacted by an adult female victim. The victim advised that she had been sexually assaulted by the suspect on fiveseparate occasions dating back to 1989.

Following an investigation, officers arrested the suspect without incident on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, in the area of Chestwood Drive and Finch Avenue West.

The investigation is ongoing and officers are releasing a photo of the accused and asking that anyone with information come forward. Police believe there may be addition victims.

Abrahim Safaie, 54, of the Town of Richmond Hill

Charges:
– Sexual Assault X5

The accused has been held in custody.
