Elderly Toronto woman beaten and then sexually assaulted in a cemetery

The Toronto Police Service is alerting the public to a sexual assault investigation.

It is reported that:

– on Monday, July 12, 2010, sometime after 5 p.m., a 61-year-old woman was walking on the paved path of Pine Hills Cemetery in the Kennedy Rd. and St. Clair Ave. E. area,

– a man approached the woman,

– he dragged her off the main path and sexually assaulted her.

She was admitted to hospital, but police have not disclosed her injuries.

The man is described as white, 30 – 40, 5’6", skinny build, clean shaven with long hair, worn in a ponytail.

It is further reported that:

– the victim’s clothing may have been disposed of in the immediate or surrounding area,

– the items disposed of consisted of women’s clothing, including the victim’s track pants, T-shirt and running shoes.

Anyone locating the clothing is requested not to touch the items but to contact police.
