Mississauga bicysclist Michael Kowal charged in connection to an elderly woman’s death

Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau are appealing for witnesses to an incident that resulted in the death of a woman. 

On Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at approximately 11:00 a.m., a 71 year-old female was found lying on the sidewalk in the area of Burnhamthorpe Road West and Central Parkway West in Mississauga.  The woman had sustained trauma to her head and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.   A bicycle and a white baseball cap with the letter “B” were located a short distance away from the woman. 

As the result of a lengthy investigation, 52 year-old Michael Kowal of Mississauga was arrested and charged with Failure to Stop at Scene of Accident Cause Death. He was held for a bail hearing at the Brampton Ontario Court of Justice today.
