15-year-old girl sexually assaulted in Markham

The York Regional Police Sexual Assault Unit is seeking public assistance in identifying and apprehending a suspect in connection with a sexual assault that occurred in the Town of Markham.

On Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at 5:40 p.m., the 15-year-old female victim was riding her bicycle on a pathway in the area of Bullock Drive and Snider Drive. When the victim stopped her bicycle momentarily, the male suspect approached the victim, touched her inappropriately and yelled offensive comments at her before she fled from the area.

The victim did not receive any injuries during the incident.

The suspect is described as:

• Male, white, approximately 40 years
• 5’ 11” to 6’’, thin build
• Short, dark brown hair, believed to be wearing a toupee
• Wearing a dark green T-shirt and beige shorts
• Riding a black mountain bicycle
