On Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at approximately 10:30 a.m., officers were called to a residence on Leone Lane after receiving a 911 call. Two male suspects had approached the residence and identified themselves as police officers. They then pushed their way into the home, while brandishing handguns. A struggle ensued and a 27 year-old male victim received a gunshot wound to the leg. During the altercation, a noxious substance, believed to be ‘bear spray’, was also deployed. A 71 year-old female victim and a 16 year-old male victim sustained minor injuries in the confrontation.

The 27 year-old male victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment and his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Following the struggle, the suspects fled the residence on foot. Diligent police work conducted by canine and uniform officers located one of the suspects, hours later.

Ferdinand KHAMIDI, a 29 year-old man of no fixed address, has been charged with Robbery, Administer Noxious Substance, and numerous firearms related offences. He was held pending a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday, July 21, 2010.

The second suspect is still outstanding. He is described as male, black, 6’0 tall, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a gray dress shirt and black dress pants.
