A new video has surfaced exposing the events immediately before the ones that were previously caught on camera and spread wildly over the internet, elucidating further into the clarification of events that led to the incident of police shooting Sammy Yatim dead. It can been seen that Yatim walked forward on a stationary, empty streetcar in downtown Toronto before he fell backwards after being shot several times by Toronto police officers.

The video seems to show a cellphone recording of a security camera monitor from the northwest corner of Dundas West and Bellwoods Avenue, describing a clear scene of Yatim aggressively shrugging towards police with a knife in hand. However, since there is no audio in that security camera footage, other videos have led to the determination of someone saying, “You’re a p—-. You’re a f—- pussy” at that time while police keeps on warning that “drop the knife!” Consequently, it is visible that Yatim then backs off behind the driver’s well, and leans towards the first row of seats.

Another clip released by the National Post, which displays a video from another angle, illustrates a clear audio of officers warning at this moment that “If you take one step in this direction with that foot …[inaudible] die.” Consequently, few seconds later Yatim is shot for the first time. In contrary to the initial disguised footage of the Yatim’s shooting, this video clearly shows him energetically moving ahead towards the officers outside the driver’s cab door.
