The woman was transported to hospital by EHS with non-life threatening injuries and was later released. The victim and the suspect are known to one another and this is not a random act.

He was held in custody overnight and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court later today to face charges of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, robbery and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.
