Adrian Daniel Joseph Lemay and Robert Finlayson charged after weapons seized in Winnipeg

In December of 2009 National Weapons Enforcement Support Team became involved in an investigation regarding the diversion and trafficking of firearms.

On July 15th, 2010 at approximately 11:00 p.m. a suspect male was taken into custody and found to be in possession of:

CZ 9 mm semi-auto pistol X2
Mossberg 12 gauge pistol grip shotgun
Approximately 300 Ecstasy pills estimated street value $3000.00
A small quantity of Cocaine and Marihuana

A Firearms Search Warrant was then subsequently obtained for a residence, which resulted in the following seizure:

CZ Bolt Action Rifle 22 calibre X4
Ruger Hawkeye Bolt Action Rifle .243 calibre
Colt 9 mm Carbine rifle with 30 round magazine
Large can of Bear Spray
Machette

Adrian Daniel Joseph LEMAY, 41 years of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

– Breach of Firearms Regulation X9
– Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose X9
– Unauthorized Possession of Firearm X12
– Possession of Weapon Obtained by Crime X9
– Possession of Firearm, Weapon, Device or Ammunition for Purpose of Trafficking X9
– Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was Firearm X3
– Possessing substance for purpose of trafficking- CANNABIS (Marihuana)
– Possessing substance for purpose of trafficking- COCAINE
– Possess firearm with altered serial number
– Unauthorized Possession of Firearm X6

Robert FINLAYSON, 41 years of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

– Breach of Firearms Regulation X9
– Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose X
– Unauthorized Possession of Firearm X8
– Trafficking in Firearm, Weapon, Device or Ammunition X16
– Possession of Weapon Obtained by Crime X16
– Possession of Firearm, Weapon, Device or Ammunition for Purpose of Trafficking X16
– Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was Firearm X
– Possessing substance for purpose of trafficking- CANNABIS (Marihuana)
– Possessing substance for purpose of trafficking- COCAINE
– Possess firearm with altered serial number
– Unauthorized Possession of Firearm X10

Both males have been detained in custody at the Provincial Remand Centre.

A 40 year old female was also charged with numerous firearms offences and has been released on a Promise to Appear.
