Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 10470 West Bellfort about 9 p.m. on Aug. 25.
The suspect, Jesus Francisco Morales (H/m, DOB: 8-18-95), is charged with murder in the 184th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Carlos Morales, 33, of Houston, who was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. A second suspect, described only as a Hispanic male wearing a dark blue polo shirt and light blue shorts, also remains at large.
HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer C. Scales and Officer T. Ferguson reported:
Carlos Morales and an unknown male suspect got into an argument in front of a convenience store at the above address. At some point, a third person gave a gun to Jesus Morales, who then shot Carlos several times and fled the scene in an unknown direction. Carlos was taken to the hospital where he later died.
Further investigation and evidence obtained identified Jesus Morales as the shooter in this case. He was last seen driving a green/blue 2007 Chevrolet four-door pickup, with what appears to be an after-market front grill, damage to the driver’s side of the hood, and Texas license plates BE01045.
Update: A photo of Morales and a surveillance photo of the unidentified suspect are attached to this news release.
