On July 30, 2010 at approximately 6:15 pm, District 7 RCMP were called to a fatal motor vehicle crash on Smugglers Road in River-De-Chute, N.B.
Four people were travelling in a vehicle on Smugglers Road when their truck left the road and overturned. A 26-year-old man from Moncton, who was a passenger in the vehicle, died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The driver and the other passengers suffered serious injuries and were transported to the hospital.
An RCMP re-constructionist attend the scene to investigate the cause of the collision. It is believed that alcohol and speed were contributing factors in the crash.
The name of the victim is not being released at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
