RCMP Cape Breton Traffic Services are releasing the name of the driver who died on Thursday morning on Highway 125 in Sydney River.

At approximately 8:25 a.m. yesterday, RCMP, Sydney River Fire Dept and Emergency Health Services (EHS) responded to a report of a head-on collision near Exit 6. Preliminary investigation revealed that a car traveling eastbound collided with a dump truck traveling westbound. After impact, the truck landed on its side. 

Christopher Anthony Rudnicki, 23, of Sydney Mines, succumbed to his injuries in hospital as a result of the collision. The investigation into this collision is continuing.
