The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of an arrest made in connection with an extortion.
On Sunday, September 15, 2013, police received a call relating to an allegation of extortion.
It is alleged that:
– The complainant met the accused on an on-line dating website.
– The complainant met with the accused on a few occasions.
– The accused took explicit images of the complainant without consent.
– The accused threatened to expose the explicit images.
On Monday, September 16, 2013, at 11:00 p.m., Sean Atkinson, 33, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with extortion.
He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., at Old City Hall in courtroom 101.
It is further alleged that Sean Atkinson used an alias of “Bobby Bauer”. Anyone who may have further information about, or contact with, this person is asked to contact police.
