Houston police have arrested two suspects charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 6410 Martin Luther King Boulevard about 9:20 p.m. on September 17.

The suspects, Dante Wayne Talbert (b/m, DOB: 3-8-96) and Xavier Bernard Jones (b/m, DOB: 9-17-96), are charged with capital murder; Talbert in the 184th State District Court and Jones in the 263rd State District Court.  They are accused in the killing of Christopher McGrew, 36.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants T. Biggs and J. Rhoads reported:

Mr. McGrew was eating at the Subway restaurant at the above address when two males entered, armed with pistols.  After robbing the store, they attempted to check McGrew for valuables.  McGrew began struggling with the suspects and then gunshots were fired.  Employees who ran out of the restaurant during the shooting returned to find McGrew dead.  The suspects had fled the scene.

Additional information led to the identifications of Talbert and Jones as suspects in this case and, last Friday (Sept. 20), both were arrested without incident.
