On Thursday, August 5th, 2010 at approximately 3:00 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of Carlton Street between Broadway and Assiniboine regarding a call of suspicious circumstances.
A 25 yr old female resident of a near by block was located suffering from severe upper body injuries. She was transported by ambulance to hospital were she succumbed to her injuries.
Maxwell ZAVITZ 22 yrs of no fixed address has been charged with second degree murder and detained at the Provincial Remand Center.
This investigation is continuing by members of the Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit
