Charges are pending against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident in the 7400 block of Cullen Boulevard about 12:30 a.m. today.
The suspect, Edward Cano (H/m, DOB: 6-23-75), faces a charge of intoxication manslaughter.
The male victim, in his 60s, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Sorge and Officer A. Hart reported:
Cano was driving a silver Toyota Tacoma pickup truck northbound on Cullen when he swerved off the roadway, up onto a curb and then struck the victim. The victim was then taken to the hospital. Cano, who was not injured, was taken into custody at the scene.
