Calgary man Tonny Sembatya Ssonko faces three counts on sexual assault

The Calgary Police Service has charged a man in relation to several groping incidents.
 
The charges relate to three incidents where a man sat next to a woman who was sitting by herself on a CTrain. In each case, it is alleged he began to rub their upper thighs and buttocks during the course of the trip.
 
In two of the incidents, the victim left the train, and in the other case the suspect fled after being confronted by the victim.
 
The victims were in their 40s and 50s. Each incident is alleged to have taken place between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m., on the Northeast LRT line heading downtown.
 
The charges relate to incidents on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012 and Wednesday, June 26, 2013.  
 
After a thorough investigation, which utilized CCTV footage and the assistance of the Calgary Transit Public Safety and Enforcement Section, a Calgary man has been charged.
 
Tonny Sembatya Ssonko, 34, has been charged with three counts of sexual assault.
 
SSONKO was released on bail. His next court appearance is Friday, Oct. 4, 2013.
