Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 4700 Harrisburg about 4:50 a.m. today.

The male victim, in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Park and Officer E. Morgado reported:

The operator of a Swingmaster Model 181TC swingloader was attempting to load rails at the above location, a construction supply staging site. The Swingmaster was backing up to the rail supply area when it struck a man sleeping on the pavement. The man, who was not authorized to be on the property, died at the scene.

There are no charges in this incident.
