A man wanted by EPS in connection with a shooting has turned himself in.

Samer Chehimi, 24, turned himself in this morning just after 7 a.m. at Police Headquarters downtown.

EPS North Division CIS continues to investigate. Chehimi is facing several charges, including discharging a weapon with intent.

Background:

EPS North Division detectives have issued a warrant for the arrest of a suspect in connection with a shooting on Aug. 10, 2010 in the area of 137 Avenue and 34 Street. On Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010 a male complainant was driving westbound on 137 Avenue at 34 Street when a blue Ford F-150 extended cab (1996 -1999) pulled alongside his vehicle. A shot was then fired from the Ford pick up truck into the complainant’s SUV. The complainant and his passenger sustained minor injuries as a result of the shooting. Investigations revealed that the suspect and complainant know each other.
