Court has delayed the bail hearing of a man accused of attempting to carry explosive devices into Trudeau Airport until Nov. 6, 2013. The court witnessed an unusual mix-up on Tuesday, when three different lawyers presented themselves, asserting they were asked to represent the accused. Consequently, the court postponed the hearing while lawyers decided who would actually work on behalf of Anthony Piazza. Conclusively, it was later decided that Franco Uezzoni will be representing Mr. Piazza for future dates, including the bail hearing next week.

71-year-old Mr. Piazza, formerly known as Houshang Nazemi, was arrested from Trudeau Airport on Sunday, when he allegedly brought a bag containing concealed explosive devices at customs. Upon discovering the concealed explosive devices in the bag, security agents at the airport were completely baffled and conducted an immensely detailed search and inquiry of the incident, which resulted in more than a dozen flights delays and checking of each passenger travelling on Piazza’s plane. During court hearing on Monday, Piazza was officially charged with possessing explosive substances, attempting to get those substances into an airplane and mischief.

While admitting that Mr. Piazza was not charged with carrying a bomb, Police revealed that he was carrying materials that could be used to create one. Attorney Louis Morena, who represented Piazza in court on Monday, alleged that he is accused of carrying bullets, powder, and lighters, but his client is protesting his innocence. Morena stated that “he claims, in the police report, claims he’s innocent — the bag belonged to somebody else.”
