The Ottawa Police Service Break & Enter Unit has charged an Ottawa female after she posted stolen property on an online classified website. The female was attempting to sell a stolen laptop computer which was obtained as a result of a residential break and enter.

Trista PICKEN, 23-years-old, of Ottawa has been charged with 1 count of Break, Enter and Theft, 1 count of Possession of Stolen Property and 1 count of Laundering Proceeds of Crime.

She appeared in court today for a Show Cause hearing.

The Ottawa Police caution the public when using on-line auctions and classified websites to use due diligence at all times.

If victims of theft or break-ins do find their property listed online, please contact the Ottawa Police immediately and do not attempt to make contact with the seller.
