It is reported that:
– an 86-year-old man was crossing Dundas Street West, mid-block, from the north side to the south side,
– the man crossed the westbound lanes and entered the eastbound lanes.
– a 21-year-old man was travelling eastbound on Dundas Street West, driving an Acura Integra, when he struck the pedestrian.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police would like to remind pedestrians to cross the roads at controlled locations when possible, and to avoid crossing mid-block. Controlled intersections usually have better lighting and markings, allowing pedestrians to be more visible and predictable when lawfully crossing the street.
