On Friday, August 27, 2010, at 11:33 p.m., police responded to a stabbing call in the Landsdowne Avenue/College Street area.

Officers attended and located a 40-year-old man suffering from obvious stab wounds.

The victim has been identified as Nelson Carreira, 40, of Toronto.

The post-mortem examination revealed the cause of death as a stab wound to the chest.

It is further alleged that:

– a 37-year-old man received non-life-threatening stab wounds during the altercation.

He was treated and released from hospital.

Joseph Blandon, 19, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1. Second Degree Murder,
2. Attempted Murder.
