The EPS Robbery Section was able to put an end to a crime spree yesterday that began Friday, August 20th. Among the businesses that were robbed were a liquor store, gas station, grocery store, and convenience store.

Yesterday the accused entered a liquor store at 118 Avenue and 103 Street. This was the second time the clerk was robbed during the week. However, this time staff at the liquor store and other citizens chased the suspect and cornered him in a building at 119 Avenue and 105 Street. Police were called and the suspect was arrested.

Staff Sergeant Howard Kunce of the EPS Robbery Sections says, “In the interest of public safety we never suggest or encourage anyone to pursue suspects in criminal incidents. In this instance we had several citizens who did choose to become involved and thanks to their quick actions we were able to arrest this suspect. We are grateful that no one was injured. ”

32 year-old Robert Jason Crumley has been charged with robbery x 4, attempted robbery x 1, possession of a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence x 4, breach of recognizance x 8, and theft under $5,000 x 1.
