Homicide Section detectives have arrested and charged a 25-year-old man in connection with the death of Travis Untinen Dec. 17.

Randal Gladue is charged with second degree murder and possession of an offensive weapon for the stabbing death of Untinen, 36, which occurred in a convenience store parking lot near 107 Avenue and 104 Street on Tuesday evening. 

Autopsy results released by the Medical Examiner’s Officer yesterday, state Untinen died from a stab wound. 

Background:  

Downtown Division Patrol members responded to a weapon’s complaint in the parking lot of a convenience store near 107 Avenue and 104 Street, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Dec. 17, 2013. Witness accounts suggest an altercation between two males occurred, which led to one of them being stabbed. 

The male victim was treated on scene and rushed to hospital by paramedics, where he succumbed to his injuries.
