4 Charged In Fatal Carjacking At The Mall In New Jersey

Four men have been charged with the murder of a thirty year old and carjacking at New Jersey suburban mall. The thirty year old was a lawyer and had returned to his car after shopping with his wife. He first opened the door to his wife and then as he was about to sit at the drivers end, he was shot in the head.

Dustin Friedland, 30, was an attorney from Hoboken was shot on the 15th of December at The Mall located in Short Hills. The four men arrested are from Newark and had been motivated towards carrying out a murder by the lawyers silver Ranger Rover. The four men are identified as  Besim Henry, 32, Karif Ford, 31, Kevin Roberts, 35 who belong to Newark whereas the fourth suspect belongs to New Jersey and has been identified as Hanif Thompson, 29. The four suspects are charged with the murder, felony murder, conspiracy, carjacking, possession of a weapon and also with the possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes.

‘It was old fashion police work combined with technology,’ said Carolyn Murray, the acting Essex County Prosecutor. Murray further added that it was unclear who fired the shots and did not comment on the relationship between the four. The stolen vehicle was found about ten miles away from the mall in Newark. The four suspects were arrested between late Friday and early Saturday morning. The case would presented in court after the Christmas holidays. Friedlands funeral service was carried out on Wednesday, the 18th of December, at Lakewood.
