On September 9, 2010 at approximately 4:50 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service witnessed a disturbance in the southbound lanes of Lagimodiere Boulevard near Dugald Road and flagged down Winnipeg Police General Patrol Officers in the area.

The investigation has revealed that while traffic was at a stop the 26 year old male driver of a Pontiac Sunfire exited his vehicle armed with a hammer, brandishing it as a weapon by swinging it at the rear area of a nearby Dodge Neon. The driver of the Dodge Neon moved his vehicle forward averting the strike. The suspect returned to his vehicle, pulled up beside the Dodge Neon, exited his vehicle and attempted to strike the Dodge Neon again. The driver of the Dodge Neon drove away.

Shawn Lloyd SICHEWSKI was arrested in the area has been charged with the following offences:

-Assault with a weapon
-Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
-Cause disturbance
-Breach of recognizance
