One man was injured and taken to hospital after his plane crashed in a wooded area near Noonan, N.B.

On January 21, 2013, at approximately 10:30 p.m. Oromocto RCMP received a reportof a possible plane crash in the Maugerville area.   Shortly after, the injured pilot called 9-1-1 himself and police were able to find him in a wooded area in the Noonan area.  The pilot was the lone occupant in the plane.  The Fredericton Fire Departmentalso responded to the scene.

A helicopter was dispatched by the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Halifax to airlift the pilot, a 22-year-old man, to hospital.

The Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.  No foul play is suspected at this time.
