Police in Hollywood, Fla. has announced to have caught the prime suspect in the death of a Quebecer over the weekend, who voluntarily turned himself in after a public appeal. According to Lt. Osvaldo Perez, officers received a tip about a fight at around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, where the informant reported seeing a man lying at the side of the road. Upon their arrival, police officers found the 58-year-old victim, Domenico Perruccio, was already dead.
Perez has confirmed to several sources that Perruccio is from Quebec, though he failed to elaborate on where he lived in Quebec. An arrest warrant was issued by Hollywood police for the arrest of the prime suspect in the case, i.e. 37-year-old Twane Dobard. Later, Dobard himself entered a police station and gave himself into police custody at around 9 p.m. on Monday evening. Perez claims Dobard has an extensive criminal record.
Local media reports claims that the sudden death has astounded the entire community, where many tourists visit from Canada and the U.S. Hollywood is less than five miles away from Hallandale Beach, where Torontonians, David Pichosky, and his wife, Rochelle Wise, were previously murdered last winter. President of the condo association where the victim’s body was found, Pasquale Rossi, mentioned that “this has really stressed out the residents,” and added that “this kind of thing doesn’t happen often, thank God.” NBC Miami has revealed having contacted a witness who saw stab wounds on the side of Perruccio’s body.
