Accountant Mark Andrew Thornton pleads guilty to theft from BID Canada

On September 13, 2010, a 43-year-old Woodstock man pleaded guilty in Woodstock Provincial Court to a charge of theft over $5000.

Mark Andrew Thornton pleaded guilty to the theft which involved over $200,000 stolen from BID Canada, a company that Thornton worked for as an accountant between 2003 and 2007 before he was fired. Within a few months of his dismissal, severe financial irregularities were noted.

Thornton will be sentenced in Woodstock Provincial Court on December 15, 2010
