Regina man Jeffrey James Kionke charged with second degree murder

On September 4th, 2013 at approximately 7:50 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a suite located in the 200 block of Chestnut Street regarding two occupants located deceased.

The deceased were identified as: Unice Ophelia Crow, 19 years-old and Trevor James Sinclair, 31 years-old.

Members of the Homicide Unit with the assistance of the Forensic Identification Unit continued to investigate.

Cause of death for both victims has been determined to be the result of multiple stab wounds to the upper body.

Due to the efforts of the Homicide and Forensic Identification Units a warrant of arrest for 2nd Degree Murder x 2 was obtained for Jeffrey James Kionke, 44 years of Regina, Sk.

On February 5, 2014 Kionke was located and arrested on the strength of the warrant by members of the Regina Police Service.

Members of the Homicide Unit have since transported Kionke back to Winnipeg where he has been detained in the Provincial Remand Centre.

The investigation continues by members of the Homicide Unit.
