Investigators from the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau are appealing for victims to come forward, after a Brampton man was arrested for Fraud and Pretending to Practice Witchcraft.
Police allege that the suspect was offering witchcraft-related services at his residence, in return for money. It is believed that he has been offering these services for well over a year. It has yet to be determined how many people may have been victimized due to the suspect’s alleged actions.
Yogendra PATHAK, a 44 year-old male from Brampton, has been charged with one count of Fraud Under Five Thousand and one count of Pretending to Practice Witchcraft. Mr. Pathak was arrested on Monday, September 13, 2010, and will be making a court appearance on October 7, 2010.
