Bradford man John Jansen wanted for first degree murder

York Regional Police is seeking public assistance in locating a man wanted in connection with a homicide investigation in Newmarket. Investigators hope that the image being released will help in locating the suspect.

On Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at 10:30 p.m., York Regional Police responded to Davis Drive and Huron Heights Drive for reports that two people had been stabbed. Police arrived on scene and located two male victims suffering from stab wounds. One of the male victims, 65-year-old Ronidy Roseborough of Newmarket, succumbed to his injuries while the second victim remains in hospital. Witnesses advised police that three suspects may have fled the scene in a dark-coloured SUV.

One of the suspects involved identified as John Jansen, 38 of Bradford, is wanted for First Degree murder in connection with this incident. Investigators are urging Mr. Jansen to obtain legal counsel and surrender himself to police.

Mr. Jansen is considered extremely violent and should not be approached. Contact police immediately if you see this man.

– Male, white
– 5’6”, 120lbs
– Brown hair, brown eyes
– Several tattoos on both arms

Investigators are also seeking public assistance in identifying two additional male suspects believed to be involved in this incident.
