A 21-year-old Brantford man has been charged following a stabbing incident in Oshawa over the weekend.

On Sunday, February 16, 2014, at approximately 2:15 a.m., Central East Division officers responded to a stabbing incident near King Street East and Mary Street in Oshawa. There was a disturbance on the street involving several males who had left a nearby bar. Witnesses reported a physical altercation between numerous males had resulted in the 20-year-old male victim receiving stab wounds to his abdomen and leg. 
The two males are not known to one another. The victim was transported to a local hospital. Officers located the suspect and arrested the male without incident. A knife was recovered at the scene.

Zachary Alonzo, age 21, of North Park Street in Brantford is charged with: Aggravated Assault; Assault with a Weapon; Possession of a Dangerous Weapon and Fail to Comply with an Undertaking. Theaccused was held for a bail hearing.
