The Calgary Police Service continues to investigate what has been determined to be a double homicide in the city’s south over the weekend.

Just before 1 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, the Calgary Fire Department responded to an alleged carbon monoxide complaint at a residence in the 12200 block of Lake Erie Road S.E. Inside the residence two people were found deceased.

Carbon monoxide was ruled out as a contributing factor and the CPS Homicide Unit was brought in to investigate.

Following autopsies completed on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, the victims have been identified as Don Carlson, 59, and Roxanne Carlson, 56. The cause of death will not be released at this time.

The Carlsons were last seen at 9:30 p.m., on Friday, Feb. 14, 2014. Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance to determine their movements and whereabouts between the time they were last seen, and the time they were discovered.

Investigators would like to thank those who have assisted in the investigation to date.
