Bradford man John Jansen charged with firstt degree murder

York Regional Police would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance in locating one of the suspects wanted in connection with a homicide investigation in Newmarket.

On February 19, 2014, John Jansen, 38, of Bradford, was located in a residence in Bradford by South Simcoe Police and was arrested. York Regional Police has laid a charge of First Degree Murder against him in connection with a double stabbing which occurred last Wednesday.

Britaney Hall 27, of Bradford was arrested with Mr. Jansen and was charged with being an Accessory after the Fact.

On Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at 10:30 p.m., York Regional Police responded to Davis Drive and Huron Heights Drive for reports that two people had been stabbed. Police arrived on scene and located two male victims suffering from stab wounds. One of the male victims, 65-year-old Ronidy Roseborough of Newmarket, succumbed to his injuries, while the second victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Witnesses advised police that three suspects may have fled the scene in a dark-coloured SUV.

Mr. Jansen and Ms. Hall will be appearing in court this morning in Newmarket.

Investigators are still seeking public assistance in identifying two additional male suspects believed to be involved in this incident who had been seen fleeing the scene in a dark-colored SUV.
