Motorcycle rider dies in crash, St. Stephen, N.B

On September 20, 2010 at approximately 10 pm, St. Stephen RCMP responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision on Milltown Boulevard in St. Stephen. The collision involved a motorcycle and vehicle.

The operator of the motorcycle, a 23-year-old man from St. Stephen, died at the scene of the crash. A passenger on the motorcycle suffered serious injuries and was transported to the Saint John Regional Hospital.

An RCMP re-constructionist attended the scene to investigate the cause of the collision. The preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcycle had been travelling at a high rate of speed when it collided with an oncoming vehicle which was in the process of making a left turn. Speed and alcohol are believed to have been contributing factors.

The name of the victim is not being released at this time pending notification of his family. The investigation is ongoing.
