Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 6400 West Airport Boulevard about 2:30 a.m. on Saturday (March 15).

The identity of the male victim, 42, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant T. Trometer and Officer K. Heaverlo reported:

The driver of a white Ford wrecker truck was traveling westbound on West Airport when he made a left turn onto Sandpiper and struck a yellow Suzuki motorcycle traveling eastbound on West Airport.  The operator of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the tow truck, who did not show any signs of intoxication, stated he did not see the motorcycle.  No charges have been filed.

The investigation is continuing.
