The Ottawa Police Service Collision Investigation Unit is seeking witnesses to a collision involving a pedestrian.

On Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at approx 4:17pm, patrol officers were dispatched to a suspicious incident involving an injured person.

A 65 year old male was found lying by a bus stop at Chimo Drive and Katimavik Road.  The male informed responding officers and Ottawa Paramedic Service that he had a sore leg.  The male also appeared to be disoriented and he indicated that he was diabetic.  Paramedics transported him to the hospital.

Investigators found that the male did not remember anything after getting off an OC Transpo Bus (possibly #96 or 62).  While at the hospital, his injured leg appeared to show signs that it had been run over by a vehicle, as tire marks could be seen on the leg. X-rays confirmed a broken leg.

On May 1st the male victim died in hospital. An autopsy is scheduled to confirm cause of death.

The victim, a Caucasian male, was wearing a dark and light grey jacket, running shoes and jeans, at the time of the incident.
